I first met Maggie when I was a part of the program The Biggest Loser at the end 2007. When I met her I was 120kg and was feeling in dire straits about the situation that I was in. After years of trying to lose weight I was beginning to feel it was impossible. I was 26 years old and my self esteem was quite low. Maggie and I trained regularly and from the first week that I began to lose weight. With every kilo that was lost bit by bit my self esteem was feeling better. Within a period of 6 months I lost 35 kg and was feeling better about whom I was and the way that I looked and this was all to do with Maggie. I have been to different trainers before but Maggie is special. Maggie puts her clients before herself and every session commits herself to her clients. Organizationally she is always on time and will never take calls or texts through her sessions. She doesn’t double book and if ever she needs to reschedule it is done with a week’s notice. As a trainer Maggie does not only care about the physically aspects of her clients but the emotional and inner aspects as well. Training with Maggie I have learnt more about myself as a person and have bettered from this experience. Maggie as a trainer is a consultative and adapts programs to suit you as a client. If something doesn’t work she works with you to find an outcome that suits you and is going to extend you. The way that Maggie trains you is quite remarkable – you are pushed to your limits but in a supportive environment. It isn’t just about “feeling the burn” but making your muscles work using correct technique without injury. Maggie is inspirational and I can’t thank her enough for not only getting my body back but my life as well. Kelli Harvey |
